Building a Better Future: Critical Questions on Electricity

by Alex Steffen, Jennifer Daniel

This is one of eight sets of questions to consider when envisioning a city that can win the climate fight. Read the introduction, and take a look at an overview of all eight.

From where does your electricity come? What portion of it was generated using fossil fuels? What are the best sources of clean energy where you live? How do you feel about nuclear power and industrial biotechnologies like algal fuel? How much CO2 does the average person in your city emit through their energy usage, and how does this compare to cities that use very little electricity from fossil fuels, like Copenhagen, Denmark, or Tokyo?

In Hopenhagen, businesses grow by reducing. When businesses are faced with challenges, they work together to find solutions. SAP offers a broad range of solutions to help businesses become more sustainable. Like the SAP Carbon Impact software solution, which allows companies to measure and manage energy use so they can reduce consumption and costs. That's good for business-and the planet.
