Do Something U: How to Overcome the Fear of Asking for Money

by Amanda M. Fairbanks

Earlier today, the folks over at DoSomething.org, which supports young people interested in volunteering, organizing and fund-raising, launched Do Someting U. It's a virtual component to their in-person boot camps, where young activists can learn about overcoming fears related to asking for money (see above), creating a strong brand, building a website for less than $10, and telling a story through video (courtesy of Andrew Jenks).

Each week, Do Something U will release a new piece of video content, dedicated to providing solutions to the problems many young activists face—things like overcoming stage fright and attaining 501c3 status.

In the meantime, to fund your world-changing idea, what's been your biggest roadblock?
