Ford's New Police Car

by Andrew Price

March 18, 2010
When the Crown Victoria is put out to pasture in 2011, Ford will start giving police departments this new Interceptor. It's supposed to be super-safe, powerful, and fuel efficient.
A highly efficient 3.5-liter V6 engine delivering at least 263 horsepower and E85 compatibility is 25 percent more efficient than the 4.6-liter Single Overhead Cam (SOHC) V8 offered in the current Crown Victoria Police Interceptor.
The efficiency improvements are great, and this is an aesthetic improvement, too. It looks nimbler and stronger than the Crown Vic without looking too mean. You can read the whole press release here.
