GOOD Partners with Pepsi to Give Away $20 Million in Grants to Fund Great Ideas

January 14, 2010

We here at GOOD are thrilled to announce our involvement in an amazing new venture with Pepsi. The Pepsi Refresh Project (www.refresheverything.com) is a groundbreaking effort to foster innovation in social good. This year, Pepsi will award $20 million to the best ideas for moving communities forward. Beginning today, January 13, individuals can apply for grants to benefit projects of their own design in one of six categories: Health, Education, Food & Shelter, Neighborhoods, Arts & Culture, and the Planet. Through an online, democratic process, the public will determine the winning grants every month. (Read more about how the process works, or download a toolkit.)Our involvement in this project represents another evolution for GOOD: for nearly four years, in the magazine and through our ever-growing community on GOOD.is, we've been covering the solutions for a better world, and the people working for change. Now, we're also rolling up our sleeves and working directly on behalf of people with great ideas. In partnership with Pepsi, we'll be ensuring that Refresh Project winners have all the resources they need to succeed, and with the help of our Refresh Ambassadors, a stellar team of experts, we'll be bringing you inspiring stories of change and change-makers.Most of all, we're excited to tell you this because we can think of no group of people better equipped to come up with great projects. The community of GOOD is full of brilliant, motivated, solution-driven individuals, and we hope you'll be among the first to submit ideas, and bring positive change to your own communities.
