Intermission: Ocean 2012's Beautiful Overfishing Explainer

by Zachary Slobig

June 21, 2012

This 4-minute video explainer on the serious problems facing the world's fisheries benefits from a gorgeous, pixelated animation style and a voice over worthy of Masterpiece Theater. It was produced by Ocean 2012, a watchdog group across the pond. The video ends with a call to action: to put pressure on government officials responsible for shaping ocean policy. No need to stop there though. Vote with your fork. Stop eating the big fish and start eating the bait. Summer is the season for sardine sandwiches.
