Media Matters to Lunch with Rupert Murdoch: Will a Food Fight Erupt?

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Liberal media watchdog Media Matters for America followed the wisdom of that age-old adage when they paid $86,000 on a charity auction website to win a lunch with News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch (pictured above).

According to a press release on MMA's website, the nonprofit's founder David Brock and five invited guests will sit down for a "friendly lunch" with Murdoch, the conservative billionaire who owns Fox News. No date or restaurant has been set yet, nor has Brock announced which guests he'll bring or what he hopes they'll discuss.

Most likely, he's not interested in discussing the auction site Charity Buzz's proposed topic: to get Murdoch's advice on a new business concept. "Are you a budding entrepreneur? Do you have an idea that you are sure will propel you to success?" asks the auction page.

On the contrary, the lunch could quite likely get heated. MMA's self-described agenda is to correct news "commentary that is not accurate, reliable, or credible and that forwards the conservative agenda," and the organization tries to counter Fox News's conservative propaganda channels in particular. According to The Huffington Post, Media Matters has even dogeared a $1 million donation from liberal billionaire philanthropist Geroge Soros just to combat superstar Tea Party demagogue Glenn Beck.

David Brock, please bring a camera, some hard-hitting questions, and some antacid, just in case. GOOD readers, what would you ask Rupert Murdoch if Brock invited you to join them at lunch?
