Project: This Summer Was Hot—Show Us How You Kept Your Cool

Posted by Zak Stone

What was your strategy for beating the heat this summer? Popsicles, cold washcloths, endless trips to the beach, or maybe just camping out in front of the open fridge? GOOD wants you to send in your favorite photos of your tricks for staying cool this summer, even as the mercury soared. ??

We'll select 10 to 20 photos to create a collaborative slideshow. Then we’ll invite you, the GOOD community, to choose your favorite images. The winning submission will be printed in our next issue, and the photographer will get a GOOD T-shirt and a free subscription (or gift subscription).

So, to recap:

the THEME: ?The world just sweat through what was probably the most scorching summer of our lifetime. It’s time to look back on what we did to get through it without melting.

the OBJECTIVE?: Take a picture of yourself or someone you know doing something clever, resourceful, or straight-up desperate to beat the heat. Include a short explanation (up to 40 words) of the image’s significance.

the REQUIREMENTS?: Send an e-mail to projects[at]goodinc[dot]com with your photo and short explanation. It can be in any image format, but it should be high enough resolution that it can be printed at 300 dpi. We’ll take submissions now through September 15.

Once we receive the images, we will turn to you, the GOOD community, to choose the winning submission. The winning entry will be featured on our homepage and printed in the next issue of GOOD. We’ll also send a GOOD T-shirt and a free subscription (or gift subscription) to the winner.
