Video: Conservative Film Says Environmentalism Is "Deadly to the Gospel of Jesus"

Heads up, environmentalists: You may be headed for hell—at least if the makers of this new documentary are to be believed.

Already being lauded by Glenn Beck, Resisting the Green Dragon attempts to make the case that modern environmentalism stands contrary to Christianity and all Christian humans. In fact, according to the conservative author Janet Parshall, who opens the film, "[Environmentalism] is deadly to human prosperity, deadly to human life, deadly to human freedom, and deadly to the gospel of Jesus Christ." Parshall doesn't go into why environmentalism is so terrible, but what I can glean from the many platitudes following her rant, it seems as if she and her collaborators believe not allowing humans to do with the earth as they wish is somehow an affront to God.

The movie was produced by the ultra-conservative Cornwall Alliance, a Christian climate change think tank. And with appearances by right-wing favorites from the Family Research Council, the American Family Association, and David Barton, a fixture on Beck's TV and radio programs, you can expect to hear "green dragon" used as shorthand for environmentalism frequently on Fox News in 2011. That is, if you can hear anything over the other wailing sinners.
