The Lost Interview: Fidel Castro on Che Guevara and Communism

"If this Revolution falls, what we will have here in Cuba is a hell. Hell itself."—Fidel Castro in 1959

A few years ago, Laura Galloway uncovered a tape in her late grandfather's archives simply labeled "Galloway/Castro." It ended up being a lost recording made in 1959 by Clark Hewitt Galloway, then an editor for U.S. News and World Report. This is the story of a tape that's never been heard before. It's a pretty remarkable historical piece. Hear some great nuggets from Castro on the growing rift with the U.S. over Guantanamo (he blasted U.S. military personnel raising havoc on nights out in town), why he and Che Guevara were NOT Communists, and how Cuba would turn into hell if the revolution didn't succeed.
