Americans rely on the federal government to intercede in and solve the problems we face as a nation. But public opinion about how well the government responds to these problems varies, according to the results of a recent Gallup poll. While many Americans are satisfied with homeland security, transportation, and national defense responses, many are dissatisfied with the handling of our nation's finances and poverty, as well as numerous other federal responsibilities.
